Home of the UK’s premier tennis tournament, Wimbledon is a venue steeped in history and now a world-famous landmark. Improvements are often made at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club to ensure it is in perfect condition for the UK’s biggest tennis event. The new Centre Court and Court One complex received a great deal of positive publicity in recent years, and all other areas of the venue are kept in perfect condition using the best quality materials.
Blanc de Bierges supplied new paving, step units and Corduroy tactile paving in and around the new Tea Lawn and some of the outside courts. These have added to the wide range of Blanc de Bierges products already within the grounds of the club. Much of ‘Henman Hill’ and the steps and slabs around the new Number One court feature products from the Blanc de Bierges range.
“We selected Blanc de Bierges for this project mainly for continuity, as we had used them before on other parts of the redevelopment,” said Mike Bridges, Project Director for contractors Galliford Try. “We are always extremely pleased with the quality, look and feel of the paving supplied by Blanc de Bierges, a venue of this size and history needs top quality products. Blanc de Bierges has many standard moulds; they worked with us to ensure continuity and were able to produce specific product sizes through bespoke moulds, cost effectively.”
