Working closely with architects Hitchman Stone Partnership, the elegant and aesthetic design solution for Warwickshire College’s new £6.2m centre in Rugby is a fine example of Blanc de Bierges product in action. Utilising both standard and bespoke elements we supplied over £200k worth of products for the new building’s feature areas, including:

• setts and slabs
• bespoke cills, pier caps and pier cladding
• curved stone for radial walls
• 3,500m2 of paving
• 750m2 of walling
• 20,000 walling blocks.

Chris McBride, Managing Director of Blanc de Bierges says: “The stone was tailor made and moulded specifically for the project – in effect we supplied a ‘kit’ that fitted together with minimal wastage. We also provided technical drawings that helped to keep the programme on schedule.”

Specifying architect Philip Whitehouse of the Hitchman Stone Partnership in Warwick says: “We chose Blanc de Bierges because we wanted a quality light coloured material with a fine brushed and combed texture. We used it on inside and outside walls and it looks much more appealing than clay or concrete. We also liked the continuity of design between the façade and the landscaping, using the same sort of stone.”
